On the other hand, if your child comes to you and says, “I want to have my teeth fixed because my two front teeth are crooked,” you are going to be supporting them in the most important part of their life, which is to say that getting their teeth fixed is extremely important.
If there are some things that are going to be fixed in your child’s teeth, then braces may not be the best thing to do. In fact, if your child’s teeth need to be straight, then there are only two solutions to the problem, and they are braces or Invisalign.

They are a series of clear aligners that are computer generated in order to move the teeth (and sometimes even the jaw) in such a precise manner that it will not be possible for a person to notice at all that your child has orthodontic braces.
Sometimes it is suggested to have metal braces because decay can set in behind the gum line, around the teeth, and even on the teeth. In the event that the teeth need to be straight, then it is best to move them around the person’s mouth and as near as possible to the gums, because then the teeth can be corrected without resorting to cosmetic dentistry.

You would think that if a child is going to lose their teeth at some time, that they would want to have them placed in the back, but this is not always the case. Many children have perfectly healthy teeth that will not be harmed by the placement of traditional braces.

Try not to focus on the fact that your child is going through any form of treatment at all. Instead of focusing on the drawbacks of having braces, try to focus on any other benefits they might get from getting braces.
Try to remember that your child’s teeth will be with you for the rest of your lives, so you can do whatever you want with them. They may not look perfect when they are 18, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t look great when they reach a certain age. Remember that it is important to keep them in good condition, because once they get older, we cannot help what they eat and drink, or brush and floss for that matter.

That is another reason why they may not want to tell you they are getting braces.
Try to encourage your child to smile more by brushing and flossing after meals, drinking plenty of water (you can actually wash away the food and drink related staining), and adding tongue scraping to their hygiene routine.
Keep your overall body healthy by engaging in an active lifestyle such as exercising.
